The Chromacity Spark 1040 femtosecond laser system was used recently by Dr Clare Hoskins, at the University of Keele, to demonstrate that the Spark 1040 was better suited for targetted drug delivery then currently used 1064nm lasers. The Spark 1040 demonstrated faster heating with lower concentrations of nanoparticles leading to lowered toxicity concerns and more cost-effective drug doses.
